i know a lot of people didn't quite get what they were told to expect. I did. Its still coming down hard too, often 90* to the ground. The WRX went from hatch body, to wagon and now looks something along the lines of a small camper.

Yikes.

We got nothing near what was promised. I was hoping for 2 days off. Here's the view from the front of my building (Upper West Side):

Why put the wipers up like that? I thought about doing it, but then I thought about it and it wouldn't really help anything. You have to clear the windshield anyway, and in most types of snow (especially deeper stuff) the wipers wouldn't freeze to the windshield anyway (not that it's that hard to deal with). I'm genuinely curious why people do this or what they think it helps.

i had been driving at the beginning of the storm so the snow on the warmed windshield would probably freeze. i still think its easier to clean off

I guess they can still freeze, but I didn't find it any easier, so I was just wondering what other's opinions on it were. I figured maybe I was missing something.

If it's the light and powdery stuff I bet ya it's still drive able. I wish we got snow like that, we just got a layer of super slick ice.

I'm in Worcester and it's still coming down. We probably have around 30"

I know Shrewsbury, the next town over, had 31" as of 10am.

Very likely going to break the all time record of 32" set back in 1992.

Walt Whitman wrote about "clods of frozen horseshit" back when there were no cars. Now it's frozen tiny dog shit.
